Our resource discovery layer presents in a single interface what have historically been separate applications and silos.
The default search includes all UW System campus libraries’ holdings, allowing you to make system borrowing requests as needed.
The article search component features a mega-aggregation of hundreds of millions of scholarly articles of global and regional importance. Based on a study of click-throughs, 99.25% of the requests for articles are for articles published in journals that are included here.
Search@UW also includes images, maps, reference entries, institutional repositories, and the full text of thousands of pre-1923 books. These resources come directly from academic publishers, research institutes, and organizations such as the Library of Congress and HathiTrust.
If you login using your ePantherID, you have full access to UW System borrowing, your personal record, and the ability to save, organize, and export items. This login will also enable your off-campus access to licensed e-resources.
You can narrow your search results by either limiting your search by selecting the scope (see the Search@UW Guide for more information) or by using post-search facets on the left side of the results pages. See Search@UW Online Help for an overview of available search mechanics and techniques.
